This policy describes how Cellar & Cask: Wine & Whisky ("the App"), published by Sogerg, handles your data.
What we collect
- Photos you scan. When you photograph a wine or spirits bottle's label, the photo is uploaded to our storage and analyzed by an AI vision model to produce an identification, drinking-window or cask notes, and an estimated value. Photos are kept so you can view your history, and are deleted if you delete that entry or your account.
- Anonymous account identifier. The App creates an anonymous account for you on first launch. We do not require your name, email, or phone number to use the App.
- Sign in with Apple (optional). If you choose to sign in with Apple to keep your data across devices, Apple sends us a stable identifier and the email address you choose to share, which can be a private relay address. We use them only to link your account to your Apple Account. They are deleted with your account, and we ask Apple to revoke the App's access at that time.
- Subscription status. If you purchase a subscription, our payment provider (RevenueCat) and the app store (Apple/Google) process your payment. We receive and store only your subscription status (active/expired/plan type), never your payment card details.
- Basic usage data. Number of analyses performed, app crashes, and similar technical data, used to keep the service reliable and enforce fair-use limits on the free tier.
How we use it
- To analyze your photo and return an identification, drinking-window or cask notes, and an estimated value.
- To optionally search public marketplace listings (via a third-party search API) for comparable sale prices, when the App offers that feature.
- To enforce free-tier usage limits and premium entitlements.
- To generate the PDF export you explicitly request.
Third parties we use
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
- Cloudflare — backend hosting and image storage.
- Google Gemini / OpenAI — AI analysis of the photo you submit.
- Serper.dev — web search used only for the optional market price-check feature.
- RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play — subscription purchase processing.
- Apple — optional Sign in with Apple.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your photos to train AI models beyond the single request that processes them.
Your rights
You can delete any entry, or your entire account and all associated data, at any time from within the App. Deletion is permanent. See how to delete your data for step-by-step instructions, or contact us at sogerg.enterprise@gmail.com.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
